Metropolitan Wharf

About this project

BDC has been appointed by Team Projects (formerly ISE) to provide Temporary Works design services and assess the site constraints, construction methodology, and proposed works for the Metropolitan Wharf office building project.

One of the key challenges of this project was to create an opening in a load-bearing wall while minimising disruption to office operations and avoiding the traditional use of temporary props. To overcome this, a modern approach was implemented using steel channels as “needle” structures during the wall opening process. This innovative solution maintained the building’s stability while allowing the work to proceed efficiently, without interfering with the day-to-day functioning of the office spaces.
