About this project
This school extension involved constructing six new classrooms, refurbishing four existing classrooms, and extensive hard landscaping to expand the car park and playground areas. The single-story extension also includes a high-roof section extending the main hall, with block and beam flooring and a hollow-core plank roof system.
BDC carefully managed the challenges posed by COVID-19 lockdowns by reprogramming the project in consultation with the school and council. Temporary works included installing a secure hardcore lane from the school gate to the site compound, minimising disruption to daily school operations.
The existing car park was enlarged and upgraded, with surface water drainage systems modified to meet new requirements. Surface water storage tanks were added to the extension, and foul water systems in the original structure were updated. Strict coordination with the school ensured student and staff safety during refurbishment works.
